Toluca Lake is an upscale suburban neighborhood in Los Angeles, amidst the “studio district” of Studio City, Universal Studios Hollywood, Burbank Studios, and Warner Bros. Studios. With its quiet suburban ambiance, it serves as a tranquil escape from the nearby entertainment industry.

The name is also given to a private 6-acre natural lake fed by the Los Angeles River and maintained by neighboring property owners. Toluca Lake, lake, is encircled by private residences and the Lakeside Golf Club. It is completely inaccessible to, and hidden, from the public.
For first-rate medical care, there is Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, considered one of the best medical centers in Los Angeles County.

The density of people in Toluca Lake is among the lowest in the city of Los Angeles, with a population of approximately 9,000. Toluca Lake is located in the southeastern section of Los Angeles County’s San Fernando Valley. The history of Toluca Lake can be traced to the days of the Tongva Indians. The Tongva people have lived in the San Fernando Valley and the Los Angeles basin for 8,000 years. Toluca means fertile or beautiful valley. The Tongvan settlement Cahuenga used the springs and marsh in the Toluca Lake locale for water, fishing, hunting, harvesting, and building supplies.

Everything is nearby, you have a Trader Joe’s, tons of eating places like Prosecco Trattoria, Ca Del Sol, Bob’s Big Boy, Paty’s, Priscilla’s Coffee, Smokehouse Restaurant, and Formans Tavern among many others. There is also a weekly farmers market full of fresh produce and locally sourced products.

Toluca Lake provides great opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, with Lakeside Golf Club positioned on the south end of the neighborhood and Griffith Park just a few blocks to the east. The club offers a great golfing experience on a perfectly manicured course. Meanwhile, Toluca Lake Tennis and Fitness Club combine classic Hollywood charm with state-of-the-art modern facilities. Those who just want to be outdoors can enjoy the many hiking trails and natural spaces nearby.

Great parks and nature areas are accessible from Toluca Lake, like Runyon Canyon, Los Angeles Arboretum, Franklin Canyon Park, and Sooky Goldman Nature Center.

For entertainment head over to the storied Garry Marshall’s Falcon Theatre, it is truly a community gem. Thousands of people attend the annual trick or treating event. Universtal Studios, CityWalk, Nickelodeon, Hollywood Bowl, Hollywood, and other industry landmarks are all within a short distance. Notably, the community’s private man-made lake is where Little Rascals shot a famous scene.
